In addition to quickly transitioning to a 100% remote work environment over the course of one week, the company offered free counseling through its Employee Assistance Program, virtual coffee breaks and virtual Town Hall meetings to keep employees engaged and purchased PPE for its claims and sales team members who visited customers and agents (based on comfort and safety levels), among other events. Additionally, each leader engaged with their teams to help identify employees who might be dealing with anxiety, burnout and/or health issues, and had the latitude to flex and pivot as needed to address their team members’ needs.
